The first time I called it was because they delivered, but I think they have the best Chinese food in the area. I've tried the Mongolian Beef, Sweet and Sour Pork, Almond Boneless Chicken, and they've all been good. They also have some unique dishes like the Singapore Noodles which I thought was very good. Lastly, the delivery is always accurate and prompt.

Great food. Lemon chicken, wonton soup and egg roll. Everything was great, large portions. Chef is from Peking house.

Perhaps the best Chinese food in all of Oakland County. Very authentic, especially the Cantonese selections. Szechuan & Hunan also outstanding tho. General Tsao Chicken, Garlic Chicken, Szechuan Shrimp & Kung Pao Shrimp among my faves. Owners Alex & So are delightful and always aim to please.

First time had General Tso chicken. It was good with tender meat. Today had it again and the meat was chewy and not nearly as good. I'd say this place is your average Chinese takeout joint.

I've been going to this place well before yelp existed. 15+ years. In that time I've never had a bad experience. Quality food and service. Great owners who are very personable and caring. Excellent establishment.

This is my go-to Chinese carry out. Fresh flavorful food in good portions at very reasonable prices. Can't be beat!

This place is good. Is it the best Chinese take-out I've ever had? No, but it's up there. I am bumping my rating up to 5 stars due to a few things.... namely the convenience, delivery times and service. My favorite thing to get here is the Bourbon Chicken dinner combo and I pay extra for all noodles instead of having fried rice. That meal in itself is worth 4 stars. My 2nd favorite thing here is the Hunan beef. It's freakin' awesome. The pork fried rice is good, but lacks the veggies to really make the dish shine. (I'd like some more celery and onion, but the meat is good no matter what choice you get.) Other than that, the food is great... The prices are, as well. And the staff is friendly and efficient.

Very good chinese food. We have been customers for the last 5 years and the food is always consistently good. The egg rolls are wonderful. Food is always hot and ready fast for take out. I have only one wish..........They currently do not have Egg Foo Young on their menu. I really wish they would add this.

I found myself way down on Orchard Lake Rd. and, on a whim, I decided to give the encouragingly named, Happy You, restaurant a try. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good. It was freshly made. And the portions were generous. In particular, the egg rolls that came with my sesame chicken were among the best that I've had in years.

I don't think I necessarily can give a good solid review on a Chinese restaurant considering I have only tried a grand total of probably 3 places.. But, with that said I love this place. I've tried a few different dishes but my favorite of course must be the sweet and sour chicken, with rice and noodles.. The almond chicken is great as well as the lemon chicken. I liked the cashew chicken a lot but I wouldn't save leftovers, didn't reheat well. If I wasnt a college student on a budget I would continue to try different dishes but I do plan on it! Their meals are plenty enough to fill you up as well as safe some for lunch the next day. Which I love :) more bang for your buck!

I've been ordering food from Happy You for years! Since high school. Which I actually had food to delivered to a class (lol good times). The owners and food haven't changed one bit. Very friendly, and great quality Chinese food. Everything I have tried has been great, consistent and always exactly what I've ordered. If you're ever in the area I highly recommend giving it a shot, you truly will not be disappointed. S

Since I am working in the scenic Orchard Lake area this month and I was leaving work early I decided to try my chance for some good old American Chinese cuisine. I spun the yelp wheel and after seeing lots of poor reviews for places nearby I decided on Happy You. Appetizer was hot and sour soup which was tasty, not overly tangy as some can be, and not extra thickened either. The green onion in the soup even tasted fresh and had some crunch left to it. For lunch I got the orange chicken. The lunch plates come with some generic fried rice and lo mein which was not too exciting. The chicken however was very nice. Real pieces of white meat with a nice crispy batter deep fried. Each piece was about big enough to cut into 3 or 4 bites which I did since I was given a fork and knife, not chopsticks. It had sticky sweet sauce, which could have been much spicier, as well as onion celery and bell pepper. The owner was working the front counter and was very friendly. We chatted a bit and he did confirm that he used to work at Peking House long ago. I will have to go back while I am still in the area to try out some more of his dishes. The restaurant itself is pretty small. Only a few tables in a strip mall spot. Overall if you are looking for some quick freshly prepared chinese take-out you should stop by.

I ordered the bourbon chiken (with lo mein) and the crab rangoons. The bourbon sauce was served on the side (which was good!) and was thick and delicious - just perfect for the slices of chicken! I'll admit - I also drizzled some of the sauce on my fried rice in leiu of soy sauce and was quite happy with the result. Delivery was fast!! The food was still nice and hot when it got here and the delivery driver was VERY polite. All in all, I thouroughly enjoyed the meal, and can't wait to order again! (For 2 meals and the crab rangoons, it cost me $23.00 - and that was after the tip!)

first let me state the facts: Heather and I definitely just took to our take-out like we were about to embark on a long fast and this was our last meal, needless to say, the boxes are damn baron. Also, I have recently transfered to the dark side, yes, I ATE MEAT & I will not apologize for the little baby chicken hangin' out in my tummy, because I promise it tasted better than bean curd. Lastly, That had to be theeeee best take-out I have ever had, my rice wasn't glistening with oil, my egg roll didn't taste like it was popped fresh from the microwave & egg drop soup was beyond awesome...which I usually pour crackers in or some soy/sauce or spice to stop it from reminding me of a "no-neck" swallowing his glass of protein in the morning....I did no such thing but slurp it like a kid with no manners. The owner I have been told use to be a head chef @ Peking House in Royal Oak, which, I have frequented, and I do enjoy that place, so you can imagine my excitement when I found out the little place seriously across the road had a former chef from there running it. This is the first time I have ever been there, and apparently he has a steady clientèle, as he was greeting customers by their first name when they walked in...I promise he will know Heather and I very shortly after this meal. As I can only recommend the Cashew Chicken currently, My accomplice will recommend the Beef and Broccoli...and clearly, the egg drop soup. The prices are about the same as most Chinese Take-out places, though, if you'd like, they have tables and you can dine in. I know my thighs and other areas of my body are extremely pissed and disappointed that I found this little gem, but my stomach is raging like andrew w.k right now, FOOD PARTY!

Best carry-out Chinese place I've found yet. I always get the sweet n sour chicken or the bourbon chicken...both of which are spectacular. The owners are real friendly and welcoming. If you are looking to get great chinese food at a very reasonable price ($6/lunch), then this is your spot.

Just ordered delivery and it was super fast (20 mins.)! I ordered the almond chicken which was awesome! The chicken was piping hot and the fried rice was delicious! The egg roll was great too. I also ordered a side of their lo mein noodles for my kids and they ate it up! Great service and great food! Will order again real soon, I hear their cashew chicken is good.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
